Newmarket to Stansted Airport Taxi & Transfers

Pre-booked airport taxi and transfer fares from Newmarket to Stansted start from £110. Your exact fare is shown before you confirm your booking, and it depends on your pickup address and the vehicle you choose.

Your driver picks you up from your address in Newmarket and takes you directly to the terminal, in one vehicle and with your luggage in the boot. We set your pickup time from your flight time, your address and the time you are travelling, then confirm it with you in advance. If you would rather reach the airport earlier than we suggest, tell us and we will plan around that.

The usual road route runs south-west on the A11 to join the M11, then south to junction 8 for the airport. Journey times vary with traffic. Weekday mornings and late afternoons are slower, which is why your pickup time allows for the time you are travelling rather than a fixed drive time.

Your driver takes you to the Express Set Down area outside Departures. The airport’s drop-off charge is included in your fare, and you walk straight into the terminal.

The fare is fixed for the agreed journey. There is no meter, so traffic does not change what you pay.

If you are flying into Stansted for a race meeting, a business visit or a stay in Newmarket, book your transfer before you travel and include your flight number. Your pickup is planned around that flight, and your driver takes you to the exact address in your booking, whether that is a hotel, a private address, an office or a racecourse.

Stansted has drivers wait away from the terminal forecourt, so the pickup works a little differently from a taxi rank. Here is how it works:

1. We track your flight. If it lands early or late, your driver’s timing adjusts to match, at no extra cost.
2. Your driver waits nearby and comes to the meeting point once you are ready.
3. Your driver calls or texts you shortly after you land and confirms exactly where to meet.
4. Reply once you have your luggage and are heading out. Allow a few minutes for your driver to reach the meeting point.
5. Walk out through the main terminal doors to the pick-up area and meet your driver at the point they confirmed.

The airport’s pick-up charge and parking are included in your fare. Journeys from Stansted to Newmarket are quoted when you book.

You can travel between Newmarket and Stansted Airport by train, and for some travellers it is the better choice. Check the timetable and route for your date of travel before you rely on it.

The train can be substantially cheaper than a private transfer, particularly if you are travelling alone with light luggage.

A pre-booked transfer suits a different kind of journey. It runs door to door, so there is no journey to or from Newmarket station. It is most useful when:

• you are travelling with heavy luggage or several cases;
• your flight leaves early in the morning or lands late at night;
• you are heading to a specific hotel, racecourse or business address;
• somebody else is arranging the journey for you or for a guest.

Which suits you depends on your luggage, your flight times and where you are staying.

The National Horseracing Museum is in the heart of Newmarket and is a useful starting point for anyone interested in the town’s racing history.

If you are staying at a hotel, give us its name and address when you book, and your driver takes you there directly from the airport. The same applies on the way back: your pickup is from the hotel, at the time agreed for your flight.

Newmarket has two racecourses, the Rowley Mile and the July Course. If you are travelling for racing, you can book a transfer from Stansted to your hotel or to the racecourse, and back to the airport afterwards.

Newmarket Racecourses recommends that racegoers pre-book their taxi rather than rely on the taxi rank at the end of racing. When you book with us, tell us which course you are attending and whether it is a race meeting or a concert, so the pickup can be planned around it.

Give the traveller’s own name and mobile number, so the driver can contact them on arrival. Where needed, we can keep both the traveller and the person who made the booking informed.

Details to include when you book:

• the traveller’s full name and mobile number;
• the flight number, for a pickup at Stansted;
• the full Newmarket address, including the hotel name, business or racecourse;
• the number of passengers and cases;
• any request for the driver to meet the traveller inside the terminal.

Every vehicle carries up to four passengers. The vehicle choices for your journey, with their luggage space and price, are shown when you book, so you can choose the one that fits your party and your cases.

An Estate gives more boot space for larger cases or sports equipment, and an Executive is a higher-specification vehicle for business travel. Both cost more than the starting fare, and the exact price appears when you select one.

Child seats are available on request. Tell us what you need at booking and we will confirm the charge in advance. A child seat is not guaranteed until it is confirmed.

You can book Newmarket to Stansted or Stansted to Newmarket, and a return journey can also be booked. For a Stansted Airport pickup, your fare is shown before you confirm the booking, and it includes the airport’s pick-up charge and parking.

For the pickup at Stansted, include the arriving flight number so your driver can track it.

You can pay online when you book, or in the car by card or cash. If you have chosen to pay in the car and would rather pay online, ask and we will send a payment link.

If your plans change: cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a full refund. Between 24 and 6 hours before pickup a 30% cancellation charge applies, and under 6 hours it is 50%.
