Cambridge to Gatwick Airport Taxi & Transfers

A taxi from Cambridge to Gatwick Airport starts from £185 in our Comfort class. That’s the complete price for a one-way journey from a Cambridge address to your terminal. There’s no meter, so traffic doesn’t change what you pay.

Gatwick is our longest route and our highest fare. Everything is in the price you’re quoted: the drive, the Dartford Crossing toll, the airport’s drop-off charge and the parking when we meet you.

Two things affect the price: where we pick you up and which vehicle you choose. Cambourne to Gatwick starts from £195 and Royston from £190. We also cover the towns and villages around Cambridge — see the areas we cover, or enter your address at booking and you’ll see the price before you pay.

Estate and Executive vehicles cost more than Comfort, and the exact price appears when you select a vehicle.

Return journeys from Gatwick to Cambridge are quoted at booking, and the quote includes Short Stay parking and meeting you inside arrivals.

The drive covers about 90 miles and takes roughly two hours in normal traffic, via the M11, the Dartford Crossing and the M25. That’s the shorter and faster way from Cambridge, and the crossing toll is in your fare. The M25 is slower at peak times, and your driver takes the fastest route on the day, so the exact road can vary with traffic.

That’s why we set your pickup time from your flight time, your address and the time you’re travelling, then confirm it with you in advance. If you’d rather reach the airport earlier than we suggest, tell us and we’ll plan around that.

Gatwick has two terminals, North and South, in separate buildings linked by a free shuttle that takes a few minutes. We work from your flight number, so your driver knows your terminal before you land and takes you to the right one when you fly out.

If you do end up at the wrong terminal, call your driver and take the shuttle across. Your fare stays the same.

Your driver takes you to the drop-off zone outside your terminal. The airport’s charge is already included in your fare.

It’s built for a quick stop: the car pulls in, and you walk into the terminal.

For a Gatwick to Cambridge pickup we work from your flight number, and there are two ways to be met. Both are included in your fare.

Inside the terminal is the default. Your driver parks in the Short Stay car park, comes into the arrivals hall with a name board, and helps with your luggage back to the car.

At the car, if you’d rather. Gatwick has express pick-up bays in the Short Stay car parks: North Terminal, Car Park 6, Level 4; South Terminal, Car Park 3, Ground Floor. Your driver waits with the vehicle and you walk out to them.

Here’s how it works:

1. We track your flight, and your driver is nearby before you land.
2. Shortly after you land, your driver texts or calls. They ask whether you’d like to be met inside or at the car, and tell you where they’ll be.
3. Message them when you have your luggage or you’re close to coming out. Your driver needs about ten minutes to park and reach arrivals, so a quick text is all it takes.
4. Meet your driver and go. Parking is included in your fare.

Queues at passport control, slow bags and delayed flights are all normal, and keeping your driver updated costs you nothing. If you’re out before your driver reaches you, both terminals have coffee shops and an M&S in the arrivals area.

At Gatwick, meeting you inside arrivals is how a pickup normally works, and it’s included in your fare. At some airports the driver has to pay to park and come in, so it’s a separate arrangement there; at Gatwick it’s part of the service.

Your fare is all-inclusive for the agreed journey. It covers:

• the journey itself, door to door, in one vehicle;
• tolls along the route, including the Dartford Crossing;
• the airport’s drop-off charge when we take you to Gatwick;
• Short Stay parking when we pick you up from Gatwick;
• meeting you inside the arrivals hall, if you’d like that;
• flight tracking on return journeys, with your driver’s timing adjusted to the actual landing time.

Nothing is added for traffic, and nothing is added for a delayed flight.

When something would be added

A fare only increases in three situations, and your driver tells you before anything is added:

• your own arrangement runs beyond the agreed time;
• you ask for extra stops;
• you change the pickup address on the day.

There is no meter and no surge pricing.

You can pay online when you book, or in the car by card or cash. If you’ve chosen to pay in the car and would rather pay online, just ask and we’ll send a payment link.

If your plans change: cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a full refund. Between 24 and 6 hours before pickup a 30% cancellation charge applies, and under 6 hours it is 50%.
