Cambourne to Heathrow Airport Taxi & Transfers

The journey is around 70 miles by road, with the route varying according to traffic and conditions on the day. Conditions around Heathrow and on the wider road network can make a considerable difference to the journey time, and weekday mornings and late afternoons are usually slower. That is why your pickup time allows for when you travel rather than a fixed drive time.

Give us your flight number or terminal when you book, and your driver takes you to the drop-off area outside that terminal. Heathrow charges vehicles each time they enter a terminal drop-off area, and that charge is included in your fare.

Your fare is fixed once you confirm. There is no meter, so heavy traffic does not change what you pay.

If you are landing at Heathrow, book your airport transfer before you fly and include your flight number and where you are flying from, so we can identify the correct flight. Your pickup is planned around that flight, and your driver takes you door to door to the Cambourne address in your booking, whether that is your home, a hotel or an office at Cambourne Park.

At Terminals 2, 3 and 5, meeting you inside the terminal is part of every pickup, and it is included in your fare along with the parking. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name board and helps with your luggage to the car.

Heathrow has private hire drivers wait in its Authorised Vehicle Area, a dedicated waiting area away from the terminals. This is how a pickup works at Terminals 2, 3 and 5:

1. We track your flight. If it lands early or late, your driver’s timing moves with it, at no extra cost.
2. Your driver waits nearby in the Authorised Vehicle Area until you are ready.
3. Your driver calls or texts you shortly after you land and confirms the meeting point for your terminal.
4. Message your driver once you are through passport control or have your luggage. Your driver then comes into arrivals to meet you.
5. Meet your driver in arrivals, and your driver takes you to the car for the journey to Cambourne.

Meeting points differ by terminal, so your driver confirms yours after you land rather than this page naming a spot. If you would rather go straight to the car than be met inside, tell your driver and they will arrange it.

Terminal 4 currently uses different pickup arrangements, following the closure of its multi-storey car park. For a quick pickup, your driver can wait with the car in the Priority Pick-Up area right outside the Terminal 4 arrivals hall, and you walk out to meet them. Where your booking includes meeting you inside the terminal, your driver can use the Terminal 4 Park & Ride and its shuttle bus to reach Arrivals. Heathrow has four passenger terminals, numbered 2, 3, 4 and 5, in separate buildings. Your terminal decides where you are dropped off and where you meet your driver, so it matters in both directions. Pickups at Terminal 4 currently work differently from the other three, as explained above.

Your airline booking shows which terminal your flight uses, and Heathrow’s terminal guide has current information on each one. Give us your flight number when you book:

• Flying out: your driver takes you to the drop-off area outside the terminal your flight departs from.
• Flying in: we work from your flight number and where you are flying from, so your driver knows your arrival terminal before you land.
• If your terminal changes after you book, tell us and we will update your journey.

Your fare is worked out for the journey you actually book: your address in Cambourne, the direction you are travelling, the date and time, and the vehicle you choose. Enter your journey to see the current fixed fare before confirming your booking.

Once you confirm, the fare is fixed for that journey, and it includes:

• the airport’s drop-off charge when we take you to Heathrow;
• the applicable standard parking or pickup charge when we pick you up from Heathrow;
• meeting you inside arrivals on pickups at Terminals 2, 3 and 5;
• flight tracking on pickups, with your driver’s timing adjusted to the actual landing time.

Nothing is added for traffic or for a delayed flight. A fare only increases if you ask for extra stops, change the pickup address on the day, or your own arrangements run beyond the agreed time. Your driver tells you before anything is added.

Cambourne does not have a railway station of its own. Travelling to Heathrow by public transport therefore usually starts with getting to a rail or coach connection elsewhere, and the onward journey to the airport can involve one or more changes, depending on the route you choose.

Public transport can cost less, especially for one person with light luggage whose flight times fit the timetable. Check current times for your date of travel before you rely on them.

A pre-booked airport taxi suits a different kind of journey:

• it runs door to door, from your Cambourne address to the terminal, with no change of vehicle;
• your luggage stays in the boot for the whole journey;
• it fits early departures and late arrivals;
• someone else can arrange it on your behalf, or you can arrange it for a guest or colleague.

It is not always the faster option, because Heathrow traffic varies. Which suits you depends on your luggage, your flight times and who is travelling.

The person booking and the person travelling do not need to be the same. A PA arranging a client’s visit to Cambourne Park, an office manager booking a colleague’s journey home from Heathrow or a family member booking for a relative can all book online or by phone on 01223 944905.

Give the traveller’s own name and mobile number, so the driver can contact them at Heathrow. Where needed, we can keep both the traveller and the person who made the booking informed. Details to include when you book:

You can pay online when you book, or in the car by card or cash. If you chose to pay in the car and would rather pay online, ask and we will send a payment link.

If your plans change, cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a full refund. Between 24 and 6 hours before pickup a 30% cancellation charge applies, and under 6 hours it is 50%.
