Pre-booked transfers from Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and London City to Cambridge Research Park near Waterbeach, for visitors, colleagues and the teams who arrange their travel.
Cambridge Research Park is a science and technology campus north of Cambridge, close to Waterbeach. It offers office, laboratory and R&D space, and the Park describes a community of more than 25 companies and more than 1,500 employees. The address is Cambridge Research Park, Cambridge CB25 9TL.
This page is for business and research visitors flying in to meet a company on the Park, and for the PAs, office managers and reception teams who arrange their travel. It also covers Cambridge North station, the Park shuttle and Waterbeach station. For other science and business parks around Cambridge, see our campus travel pages.
Visitors looking for an airport taxi to Cambridge Research Park can arrange a pre-booked private airport transfer with Fleeyo from Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton or London City. We also take visitors back to the airport for their departure. The fare is shown in full before you confirm and is then fixed for the agreed journey.
London Stansted is the closest of the London airports to the Park. A pre-booked transfer takes you from the terminal to the building you are visiting, with no change of transport on the way.
Stansted Airport is just off the M11. The Park describes itself as about 12 minutes from the M11 and 9 minutes from the A14. The exact route and the journey time depend on traffic.
Your fare includes a pickup at Express Set Down, a short walk outside the terminal. After you land, your driver calls or sends a text message to confirm where to meet. Meeting you inside arrivals with a name board is available on request and quoted when you book.
Include your flight number in the booking. Your driver tracks the flight and adjusts the pickup time if it lands early or late, at no extra cost. Traffic or a delayed flight does not change the fare.
By rail, Greater Anglia runs trains between Stansted Airport and Cambridge North. Check the National Rail journey planner before you travel. Cambridge North has a taxi rank and the Park’s weekday shuttle (see Cambridge North below). With light luggage and time to spare, this can work well. For a late flight, a weekend arrival or a meeting at a fixed time, a booked transfer is usually simpler. See booking for a colleague or visitor for the details we need.
The road journey from Heathrow takes you around or through London before heading north, so it is a long transfer, and the route depends on traffic and conditions. We cover Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5.
At Heathrow, meeting you inside arrivals is included in the fare. Your driver waits nearby, comes to the arrivals hall with a name board once you are through, and helps you with your luggage to the car.
By rail, one route is the Piccadilly line from Heathrow to King’s Cross St Pancras, then a Great Northern train from London King’s Cross to Cambridge North or Waterbeach. Check the National Rail journey planner for current services.
With luggage, that is a Tube journey, a mainline train and then the shuttle or a taxi for the last few miles, after a long flight. A company arranging a guest’s first visit may prefer one booked vehicle from the terminal to the building.
The Park can also be reached by booked transfer from Gatwick, Luton and London City. Pickup arrangements differ at each airport.
Meeting you inside arrivals with a name board is part of the fare. By rail, Thameslink runs direct trains from Gatwick to Cambridge, where you can change for Cambridge North or Waterbeach.
Your fare includes a pickup at the airport’s Pick Up and Drop Off zone, a short walk from the terminal. Meeting you inside the terminal is available on request and quoted when you book.
Your fare includes a pickup at the signed pick-up area in the airport’s on-site car park, a short walk from the terminal. Meeting you inside is available on request.
For the pickup details at each airport, see our meet and greet page.
Cambridge North, on Cowley Road in north Cambridge, is about 5.5 miles from the Park by the Park’s own figures. It is the station the Park’s shuttle serves, and National Rail lists a taxi rank there.
The Park runs a complimentary shuttle bus between Cambridge North and the Park, Monday to Friday, and describes the journey as about 15 minutes. The shuttle runs to a published timetable.
The Park’s website describes the shuttle but does not set out who may use it. If you plan to use it as a visitor, check with your host first.
From Cambridge North, the other options are a taxi from the rank or a car booked in advance. With heavy luggage, a train running late, a meeting at a fixed time or an arrival outside the shuttle’s weekday timetable, a transfer booked from the airport straight to the building is usually more practical.
See the Park’s community page for the current shuttle timetable, and the National Rail station page for station information.
Waterbeach station, on Station Road in Waterbeach village, is the closest station to the Park, about 2.7 miles away by the Park’s figures. Great Northern runs direct trains between London King’s Cross and Waterbeach.
National Rail lists no taxi provision at Waterbeach, and the Park’s shuttle serves Cambridge North rather than Waterbeach. If you arrive at Waterbeach, arrange your onward transport before you travel.
So although Waterbeach is closer, Cambridge North is often the more practical station for a weekday visit, because of the shuttle and the taxi rank. Waterbeach can suit a traveller who has already arranged a lift or a booked car from the station. Check the National Rail station page before you travel.
The Park is home to more than 25 companies across several numbered buildings, such as Building 1000 and Building 7200. “Cambridge Research Park” and the postcode CB25 9TL may not be enough to reach the right door.
