Fleeyo Drivers App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fleeyo Limited (“Fleeyo”, “we”, “us” and “our”) collects, uses and protects personal data through the Fleeyo Drivers mobile app (Android package com.dispatchfleeyo.driver).

If you are a customer booking transport with Fleeyo, the separate Fleeyo website Privacy Policy applies to you.

This policy is also linked from within the Fleeyo Drivers app, in the settings/menu section.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to drivers and operators who install, sign in to and use the Fleeyo Drivers mobile app (com.dispatchfleeyo.driver) on their device to receive, accept and fulfil dispatch jobs on behalf of Fleeyo.

It does not apply to customers booking through our website, and it does not replace the privacy notices of any third-party platforms, device manufacturers, app stores, mapping providers or payment providers involved.

2. Data the app collects

Depending on how you use the Fleeyo Drivers app, we may collect the following categories of data:

Location data

• Precise device location (GPS latitude and longitude)
• Approximate location derived from network signals
• Foreground location while you are actively using the app, including to receive ride requests
• Location during an active trip, from acceptance through drop-off
• Background location while an active trip is in progress, including when the app is minimised or the device is locked, to support continuous trip tracking, accurate distance calculation and real-time updates to the customer (see section 5)

Driver account and profile data

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Driver and vehicle identifiers issued by Fleeyo or our dispatch system
• Sign-in credentials used to authenticate you in the app

Trip and job activity data

• Job offers sent to you and your responses (accept, reject, timeout)
• Pickup and drop-off addresses for assigned jobs
• Trip status events (en route, arrived, on trip, completed, cancelled)
• Timestamps and duration of jobs
• Route and distance information for completed jobs

Device and app diagnostics

• Device model and operating system version
• App version and installation identifier
• Basic connectivity status
• Crash and error logs used to keep the app working

The app does not collect contacts, photos, SMS, call logs, microphone audio or health data.

3. How the app collects this data

The Fleeyo Drivers app collects data:

• Directly from you, when you sign in and use the app
• Through device permissions you grant, including location permissions, at the operating system level
• From your device’s GPS and location services while you are actively using the app, and in the background during an active trip
• From your interactions with the app, such as accepting jobs, starting trips and marking trips complete
• Automatically as technical diagnostics, so we can keep the app stable and secure

You can change or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. The app may not function correctly for dispatch if location permissions are disabled.

4. How we use this data

We use the data collected by the Fleeyo Drivers app to:

• Deliver ride requests to available drivers
• Match the nearest available driver to a customer booking
• Enable continuous trip tracking during an active trip, from acceptance through drop-off
• Calculate accurate trip distance and estimated arrival times
• Provide real-time updates to the customer during an active trip, including live driver location, ETA and trip status
• Provide customer support and resolve disputes about jobs and trips
• Support driver and passenger safety
• Prevent fraud and misuse of the app
• Comply with legal, regulatory and private-hire licensing obligations
• Keep the app stable, secure and working correctly

5. Location access, including background location

The Fleeyo Drivers app accesses precise device location, in both the foreground and the background. The app requests the Android permission ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION. Location is required for the app to perform its core driver functions.

Before the app requests location permission, it shows an in-app prominent disclosure screen explaining that location is used to receive ride requests, enable trip tracking, and provide real-time updates to customers. Permission is requested only after you acknowledge this disclosure.

The app accesses location:

• In the foreground, while you are actively using the app, to receive ride requests, show your position, accept jobs and update trip status.
• In the background, during an active trip, including when the app is minimised or the device is locked, to support continuous trip tracking, accurate distance calculation, and real-time updates to the customer (live location, ETA and trip status).

Background location is used solely for continuous trip tracking, distance calculation and real-time customer updates during active trips. It is not used for advertising, is not sold to third parties, and is not collected when no trip is active.

You can revoke location permission, including background access, through your device settings at any time. If background location is disabled, active trips cannot be tracked continuously, accurate trip distance cannot be calculated, and real-time updates to customers cannot be maintained.

6. Who we may share this data with

We may share driver app data, where reasonably necessary, with:

• Fleeyo dispatch and administrative systems used to run the service
• The booking and dispatch software providers we use to manage jobs and driver allocation
• Maps and location service providers used by the app to show positions and routes
• Customers, during an active trip only — live driver location, estimated arrival time (ETA) and trip status are shared with the customer who made the booking
• Professional advisers such as accountants, legal advisers or insurers, where reasonably needed
• Regulators, licensing authorities, law enforcement or courts where required by law or to protect legal rights

We do not sell driver data, and we do not share precise location data for advertising purposes.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep driver app data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including running dispatch, managing active and historic trips, handling disputes, maintaining business records and complying with legal, tax, accounting and private-hire licensing obligations.

Precise location data tied to an active session is generally retained only as long as needed for operational, safety and audit purposes, and is then deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

If you want to request deletion of your driver account, request a copy of your data, or close your access to the Fleeyo Drivers app, contact us at info@fleeyo.co.uk with the subject line “Driver app privacy request”. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe in line with applicable law.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect driver app data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure, including authenticated sign-in, restricted backend access and encrypted transmission where applicable. However, no app, network or method of transmission is completely secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes to the Fleeyo Drivers app or to its use of location. Any updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date above.
