Cambridge to Stansted Airport Taxi & Transfers

A taxi from Cambridge to Stansted Airport starts from £80 in our Comfort class. That’s the complete price for a one-way journey from a Cambridge address to the terminal, covering the drive, any tolls and Stansted’s drop-off charge. There’s no meter, so traffic doesn’t change what you pay.

Estate and Executive vehicles cost more than Comfort, and the exact price appears when you select a vehicle.

Return journeys from Stansted to Cambridge are quoted at booking, and the quote includes the airport’s pick-up charge and parking.

The drive covers about 30 miles and takes roughly 40 minutes in normal traffic, mainly along the M11. Weekday mornings and late afternoons are slower, so the same journey can take noticeably longer at those times.

That’s why we set your pickup time from your flight time, your address and the time you’re travelling, then confirm it with you in advance. If you’d rather reach the airport earlier than we suggest, tell us and we’ll plan around that.

Your driver takes you to the Express Set Down area outside Departures. It’s barrier-free, with number-plate cameras, and the charge is already included in your fare.

It’s built for a quick stop: the car pulls in, and you walk straight into the terminal. Stansted also offers a free drop-off at its Mid Stay car park, but that’s for people driving themselves. Our fare is priced for the Express Set Down and stays the same if you ask to be dropped elsewhere.

For a Stansted to Cambridge pickup we work from your flight number. Stansted has drivers wait away from the terminal forecourt, so the pickup works a little differently from a taxi rank. Here’s how it works:

1. We track your flight. If it lands early or late, your driver’s timing adjusts to match, at no extra cost.
2. Your driver waits nearby. Stansted has drivers wait away from the terminal forecourt, so your driver holds close by and comes to the meeting point once you’re ready.
3. Your driver calls or texts you shortly after you land and confirms exactly where to meet.
4. Reply once you have your luggage and are heading out. Allow a few minutes for your driver to reach the meeting point.
5. Walk out through the main terminal doors to the pick-up area and meet your driver at the point they confirmed.
6. The airport’s pick-up charge and parking are included in your fare.

If you’d rather be met inside the terminal than at the pick-up area, we can arrange that on request. Your driver parks in a Short Stay car park and meets you inside.

It costs more than a standard pickup, because of the parking and the walk into the terminal. The price is quoted at booking, and it needs to be arranged in advance. Our meet and greet page explains how the service works.

Your fare is all-inclusive for the agreed journey. It covers:

• the journey itself, door to door, in one vehicle;
• any tolls along the route;
• the airport’s drop-off charge when we take you to Stansted;
• the airport’s pick-up charge and parking when we pick you up from Stansted;
• flight tracking on return journeys, with your driver’s timing adjusted to the actual landing time.

Nothing is added for traffic, and nothing is added for a delayed flight.

When something would be added

A fare only increases in three situations, and your driver tells you before anything is added:

• your own arrangement runs beyond the agreed time, such as a requested inside-terminal meeting;
• you ask for extra stops;
• you change the pickup address on the day.

There is no meter and no surge pricing.

You can pay online when you book, or in the car by card or cash. If you’ve chosen to pay in the car and would rather pay online, just ask and we’ll send a payment link.

If your plans change: cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a full refund. Between 24 and 6 hours before pickup a 30% cancellation charge applies, and under 6 hours it is 50%.
