Cambridge to London City Airport Taxi & Transfers

A taxi from Cambridge to London City Airport starts from £140 in our Comfort class. That’s the complete price for a one-way journey from a Cambridge address to the terminal, covering the drive and the airport’s drop-off charge. There’s no meter, so traffic doesn’t change what you pay.

Estate and Executive vehicles cost more than Comfort, and the exact price appears when you select a vehicle.

London City has a single small terminal, so arrivals and departures are quick, and the airport suits early flights and business trips. If you fly for work, our corporate travel page explains how we handle business bookings, including journeys booked for colleagues or clients.

Return journeys from London City to Cambridge are quoted at booking, and the quote includes parking in the airport’s pick-up area.

The drive covers about 55 miles and takes roughly 1 hour 5 minutes in normal traffic, via the M11. The approach into east London is slower at peak times, so the same journey can take longer at those times.

That’s why we set your pickup time from your flight time, your address and the time you’re travelling, then confirm it with you in advance. If you’d rather reach the airport earlier than we suggest, tell us and we’ll plan around that.

Your driver takes you to the drop-off zone directly outside the terminal. The airport charges vehicles to use it, and that charge is included in your fare.

It’s for quick stops only: the car pulls in, and the terminal doors are a few steps away.

For a London City to Cambridge pickup we work from your flight number. There are two ways to be met: at the airport’s designated pick-up area, which is included in your fare, or inside the terminal with meet and greet, which you can arrange when you book. Here’s how the standard pickup works:

1. We track your flight, and your driver waits nearby until you’re ready, since the pick-up area is charged from the moment a car enters.
2. Your driver texts or calls you shortly after you land and tells you exactly where to meet.
3. Message them once you have your luggage, or straight away if you have hand luggage only.
4. Follow the “Pick-Up” signs out to the pick-up area and meet your driver there. Parking is included in your fare.
5. The terminal is small, so the walk out is short.

The pick-up area is in the on-site car park close to the terminal. It’s quick and convenient: your driver is with the car, and you’re away within minutes of walking out.

If you’d prefer to be met inside the terminal, we offer meet and greet on request. It suits anyone travelling with children, a lot of luggage or an elderly passenger, and it’s a good choice for a first visit. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name board and helps with your bags.

It’s arranged in advance and quoted at booking, because it takes longer and the airport’s parking charge is higher. Our meet and greet page explains how the service works.

Your fare is all-inclusive for the agreed journey. It covers:

• the journey itself, door to door, in one vehicle;
• any tolls along the route;
• the airport’s drop-off charge when we take you to London City;
• parking in the pick-up area when we pick you up from London City;
• flight tracking on return journeys, with your driver’s timing adjusted to the actual landing time.

Nothing is added for traffic, and nothing is added for a delayed flight.

When something would be added

A fare only increases in three situations, and your driver tells you before anything is added:

• your own arrangement runs beyond the agreed time;
• you ask for extra stops;
• you change the pickup address on the day.

There is no meter and no surge pricing.

You can pay online when you book, or in the car by card or cash. If you’ve chosen to pay in the car and would rather pay online, just ask and we’ll send a payment link.

If your plans change: cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a full refund. Between 24 and 6 hours before pickup a 30% cancellation charge applies, and under 6 hours it is 50%.
